so cute cloth kleenex

I think this is the cutest idea for hankies ever!  I’ve been contemplating trying to get rid of kleenex in the house and this just might be what finally gets me there!  I found this post on simple, green, frugle co-op, which I read often.  The lady herself has a blog here.  Fun!

I recently inherited my childhood kitchen set.  Unfortunately the stove has not made it and the chairs for the table are also unsalvagable.  But I’m pleased to have the china cupboard and the table.  They are in desperate need of refinishing.  I’m thinking of painting them yellow.  Yellow!  I love yellow these days.  And the plastic “glass” inserts in the top of the china cupboard need to be replaced.  Maybe chicken wire and/or some curtains?  I think it could look so darling!  Ruby is already playing and loving the kitchen.  Any thoughts?

Stampeding in Cowtown

Here are a few pics of my man and I stampeding last week.  We’re so sad that it’s over.  The Calgary Stampede is such a big event and seems to take over everything we do for a whole week.  This year we definitely got our fill.  I personally had 3 WHOLE bags of mini doughnuts!  You only live once…

And this is me being a dork and showing how well I can eat a big Montreal smoked meat sandwich.  I’m actually REALLY good at this.  I’ve had lots of practice.  I recommend it.

I can’t wait until next year!

summer lounge chair

I finally got around to making a new fabric sling for my outdoor lounge chair.  I bought the chair for $7 at a garage sale and it had a LOVELY Nestea Iced Tea banner as the seat-sling.  This is a whole lot better and is the jumping-off point for a colourful backyard.
